ARE WE TYPECAST?
![]() |
Like actors, companies can sometimes get typecast. They are thought of being specialists in one area and their capabilities in other areas are forgotten.
I would like to report to those readers who see us as specialists that over the last few years we have branched out to offer many other services in addition to our famous layflat perfect binding and PUR perfect binding capabilities.
This week, for example, we had a great job that involved two-sided laminating, cutting, collating, round cornering, punching, and coil binding. Aside from a delay in ordering raw material, it went very smoothly and resulted in a beautiful piece.
However you think of Seaboard Bindery, chances are you are not aware of everything we do. Click here and discover how you can keep more of your outsourced jobs in one location.
WE CAN GO VERY SMALL…
…with our new business card laminator. This hand-fed machine can laminate a small run of business cards on 4 inch rolls. We can handle any type of film, but for this small roll of film we would need several days lead time to order material.
BE PREPARED
As we are now entering calendar season (right now this means collegiate desk diaries) we want to remind you of the different calendar styles we offer. I am lugging out this relic of a helpful tip because it is ageless. However, be sure to consult with us before putting any ink on paper if you are not familiar with the particular impositions these styles require.
For more information regarding calendar styles, click here and select "Calendars, Day Planners & More" from the drop-down menu.
WHICH REMINDS ME…
If you are new or if anyone on your team is new to printing and/or bindery, you may want to pass along these tips. Seaboard Bindery wants to help you plan your jobs right and looks forward to the opportunity. Those who have grown up with digital print, for instance, can really benefit from our tips, as it's important for them to know some of the layout requirements for perfect bound covers and how to impose the text on digital print machines, all topics we've covered.
LASTLY...
Many people expressed an interest in seeing my photo album from my trip to Iceland last month. If you are interested, just click here to view my page on Google's Picasa service.
Iceland is probably the most scenic place I will ever visit. It's also very tourist friendly, except that everything is so expensive. The people are great, and they all speak English in addition to Icelandic.
